Testing...not my promised post

Hello, I’m back. Before I post the project for our friend Micah’s class, I want to practice posting pictures and make sure they appear in the order I want them to. So here are some pics from our trip to the Biltmore house this past Monday (Memorial Day). We have 12-month passes, so we didn’t go in the house this time, but it was a beautiful day and we had a wonderful time. Here are some of my faves.

These flowers hang down from the gazebo-type thing that is around the statue of Diana.

Here is a sweet picture of AJ in the garden.

DJ has become our designated photographer. He's pretty good. He took a similar picture of Michael and I in front of a different bush when we were here for my birthday.

After the garden, we walked down to the bass pond. Here are two HUGE catfish. There were two of the white ones in there. They were amazing!

When we were done with the gardens, bass pond, waterfall, and ice cream, we went over to Riverbend Farm. Here's DJ holding a baby chick. They were so soft and tiny!

Okay, so there are the pictures. That was a real pain in the butt! I don't know how some of you bloggers do that on a regular basis! I would press the backspace or delete key one too many times and the pic would disappear, and it's not like you have an Edit>Undo button. I was just trying to get the spacing to look good. (And now that I've looked at the preview, it's still not formatting correctly!) Good grief!!!

Well, looking on the bright side of things...our air conditioning is working again! Praise God!!! Yeah, apparently there is a button located between the unit and the wall outside that you have to push. That's all. At least we knew the guy, it was a simple fix, and it got taken care of in a decent amount of time!

I guess I'll be back tomorrow with the pictures of the project. Right now I need to go finish preparing for my class I'm doing tomorrow. I'll post those projects sometime later too.

Sweet wishes!

Strep Strikes Here

Well, DJ and I both visited our doctors yesterday. The pediatrician did a culture on him and it came back positive for strep, so when I went to my doc later, he just looked at me, told me my throat looked horrible, and said that if my son had strep, then I must also. When he looked in my ears, he asked if they hurt (I had already told him that they did), but he didn’t officially say that I had an ear infection too. DJ’s ears were clear. So we both have our own personal amoxicillin prescriptions, and AJ got a prescription ointment for her skin infection. I also got a referral to see an orthopedic doc about my wrist…FINALLY!

Oh, and to top it all off, our air conditioning is out, again. It was out last year when we moved in, but by the time we got back from working on staff at Affirm, they had it fixed, so we only had to spend one day and two nights w/o it. The upstairs unit works, so we may be sleeping on the air mattress up there until it gets fixed. It was 79° in here at 10:30 last night!

Okay, gotta run, but I’ll be back later or tomorrow to post a mini album I made for our friend Micah’s class project.

Sweet wishes!

About my blog

I have a friend whose blog has all words and no pictures. I have another friend whose blog has all pictures and only three words other than the ones that blogger puts there (the date stamp and # of comments). But most of the blogs I've visited have a little bit of both. That is probably how mine is going to be. There may be days when I don't have time to post a picture, so I just tell you a little about my day, and there will be other days when I don't have time to describe the pictures I post, or I *might* even do a photo tutorial! However, today, on this my second day of having a blog, I am going to attempt to post a VIDEO!!! Here's my DD "rockin' out" to a Toby Mac song. Enjoy!

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

Or in other words...life as I once knew it is over. I am blogging.

Yes, some of you have been after me for a while, and others have tried to warn me against taking such actions, but alas, over the past few days I have been glued to SCS (Splitcoaststampers--a WONDERFUL online community of paper crafters), created a Yahoo group for members of my Stampin’ Up!® downline, and now started this blog. I'm becoming a computer geek like my DH.

So, stay tuned to see some of my "Sweet Creations." One day I hope to use this tool to the best of it's abilities, but for now, I am just setting up the blog so that I could get the name I wanted. And why did I choose it? Check out my "footer" at the bottom of the page to see the story behind the name. Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet wishes!
